DESCRIPTION:World Wetlands Day is annually held on February 2 to mark the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971 and to raise awareness about the important values and benefits of wetlands. The Standing Committee of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands approved “Wetlands for a Sustainable Urban Future” as the theme for World Wetlands Day in 2018.
