World Wetlands Day is annually held on February 2 to mark the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971 and to raise awareness about the important values and benefits of wetlands. The theme for World Wetlands Day 2017 is Wetlands for disaster risk reduction. This theme is also being reflected in a new leaflet published by GlobWetland Africa.<\/p>\n
